Technology

Georgian Traditional. Fermentation in Qvevri with only natural yeast. Skin and stem contact for 1 months. After this period, only wine continues aging in another Qvevri.

Saperavi Qvevri “Vardiashvili” is distinguished by dark pomogranate color, pleasant flavours of red fruit and moderate amount of ripe tannins. This is the full-bodied wine, perfected by unique varietal aromas of Saperavi grapes gworn in PDO “Mukuzani” terroir.

What makes Saperavi Vardiashvili distinguished:


Our Saperavi vineyard is located in the Mukuzni micro-zone. This terroir is distinguished by a relatively high PH soil and a wealth of minerals necessary for the Saperavi vines. That is why Saperavi grapes grown here are distinguished by their high quality and unique tastes


Wine is produced naturally. No chemicals are used in the production process. In addition, the grapes are fermented on natural yeast, which preserves the wine’s unique aromas and character.


Saperavi Vardiashvili is a good example of a traditional Georgian full-bodied red wine. Saperavi Vardiashvili is aged traditionally in Qvevri. It is characterized by soft and balanced varietal fruit aromas.


Saperavi Vardiashvili has received many Georgian and international awards. Last year, Saperavi 2021 Vardiashvili received a silver medal at International Wine Award.


At the begining of December 2023, Vardiashvili’s Saperavi 2021 won a gold medal at the IWSC international wine and spirits competition. 521 different wines, where participated at that competition and only 18 of them received 95+ scores and won a gold medal. Vardiashvili’s Saperavi was among them.
