International Qvevri Wine Competition 2025

The “International Qvevri Wine Competition” was held in Georgia, organized by the Georgian Wine Association and supported by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and the National Wine Agency. The 2025 competition took place on June 21–22.

The competition is open to Qvevri wines from all over the world, meaning that participants can include both Georgian cellars and producers from other countries, provided their wine was made or fermented in a Qvevri (traditional Georgian clay vessel).

This competition is significant for showcasing Georgian wine on the world market, especially in the Qvevri wine category. Qvevri wine, as a Georgian tradition, is gaining increasing international traction and recognition. Winning medals, particularly at the Platinum and Gold levels, raises a winery’s reputation, encourages exports, and increases brand awareness.
